Community Giving

Delta Dental of California, Delta Dental Insurance Company, Delta Dental of Pennsylvania and affiliates provided more than $3.6 million in direct donations, grants and services in 2009.

In addition to donations to a variety of community and health care causes, included in this amount is:

  • $489,000 for materials that promote oral health
  • $528,000 for direct support of community groups
  • $557,000 for dental education materials

Each year, Delta Dental provides scholarships to dental school students who show strong leadership skills and a commitment to public service as demonstrated by civic and community involvement related to dental service. In 2007, these awards totaled $202,500, plus an additional $100,000 in scholarships to Hispanic dental school students, for a total of $402,500.
