Our companies do more than sell quality dental benefit programs. We also strive to fill the gaps for those who cannot afford private dental insurance. Improving oral health means more than just paying for treatment; it requires ingenuity and a corporate commitment to address the causes of dental disease. That’s why at Delta Dental, we not only finance many worthy programs and projects, but also partner with those who are concerned about the social and economic disparities affecting the oral health of all Americans.

Last year, our enterprise companies collectively contributed nearly $3 million in cash and services to sponsor community oral health clinics that serve the working poor, new dental research into an exciting anti-microbial compound that offers to cost effectively combat decay, and an assortment of community-based oral health education and treatment initiatives. Our work in this area includes scholarships and educational grants, financial contributions to community groups, educational sessions for professionals and a wide array of other activities.

Beyond the actual dollars spent are the stories of many dedicated Delta Dental staff who participate in creative partnerships, alliances and arrangements to see that those with unmet needs have access to needed dental care.
