Find a dentist outside the U.S.

Employees who travel outside the U.S. can find a dentist to provide care through an international dentist referral service. Delta Dental partners with International SOS Assistance, Inc. (I-SOS) to provide referrals to 3,200 dentists and dental clinics in 200 countries around the world. There is no charge to use the dental referral service.

How to locate an I-SOS dentist

From within the U.S., call: 800-523-6586
From outside the U.S., call collect: 215-942-8226 — dialing instructions

English-speaking I-SOS operators are available around the clock to answer questions and help you find an I-SOS dentist. You must identify yourself as a Delta Dental enrollee when you call. You will receive a dentist's name, address, specialty, office hours and languages spoken.

For customer service inquiries, please use one of our online forms, or call 800-765-6003. Any dentist-related issues should be directed to I-SOS.

How your coverage works
Because I-SOS dentists are not contracted Delta Dental dentists, reimbursement for services is based on the out-of-network benefits provided through your plan. Enrollees visiting an I-SOS dentist receive the same benefits and are subject to the same limitations and exclusions when visiting a non-Delta Dental dentist in the U.S. employees who visit a dentist referred by I-SOS are responsible for paying in full at the time of service and submitting a claim to Delta Dental for reimbursement. Be sure to refer to your Summary Plan Description (SPD) booklet for more information about the services covered under your Delta Dental program.

Payment for service
When you visit a dentist in the I-SOS network, you pay the dentist at the time of treatment and should request a detailed receipt so you can submit a claim to Delta Dental for reimbursement. The receipt must include the dentist’s name and address, describe the services performed by the dentist and indicate which tooth or teeth were treated. It must also indicate whether the dentist’s charges were billed in U.S. dollars or the local currency. Once we receive your claim, we will translate it, if necessary, and then reimburse you according to the out-of-network benefits provided through your plan. Please note that, as with any dental plan, this reimbursement may not cover your entire cost.

Dialing instructions
When you call I-SOS from outside the U.S., you must first dial the international dialing codes from your area, including the U.S. country code. Then dial 215-942-8226. Tell the I-SOS operator that you’re a Delta Dental enrollee and that you’re calling collect.
