California Healthy Kids Program

- Central California Alliance for Health (CCAH) has established the Healthy Kids program to provide certain dental services to children residing in Santa Cruz County who do not qualify for Medi-Cal, the Healthy Families program, private or other health insurance. CCAH is funded by the "First 5" Commission, whose goal is to significantly reduce the incidence of dental decay in young children through age 5, including children with disabilities and other special needs. The Healthy Kids program began July 1, 2004.

- The Partnership HealthPlan of California Healthy Kids program is a locally developed and funded comprehensive health care coverage program for eligible children residing in Solano, Sonoma, Marin and Yolo Counties to provide quality, accessible and efficient health benefits and services to children in families whose income falls at or below 300% of the Federal Poverty Level who are ineligible for Medi-Cal or the California Healthy Families Program. This program covers certain preventative restorative, and major dental services.

- A health insurance program offered by San Francisco Health Plan (SFHP), providing complete medical, dental, and vision coverage to low and middle income San Francisco children aged 0-18. Delta Dental contracts with the SFHP to provide dental services to children of low and middle income families in San Francisco. To be eligible for the program, children must be uninsured, aged 0-18, and residents of San Francisco who are not eligible for Medi-Cal or the Healthy Families Program.

- Members of HealthPlan of San Mateo provides medically necessary health care services to eligible children residing in San Mateo County who are not otherwise covered by the Medi-Cal program, the Healthy Families program or private or other insurance for such health care services. The Program is designed to help children of families with incomes at or below 400 percent of the federal poverty level, which do not have access to employer-sponsored health care. Dental coverage includes most diagnostic, preventative and basic restorative services. There are no co-payments for diagnostic and preventive care services such as topical fluoride treatment, x-rays, cleanings, and dental sealants. There are also no co-payments for fillings. There is a $10 co-payment for other services.
