Delta Dental Welcomes Superior Programs |

For more than 50 years, Delta Dental has worked with dentists to deliver quality, affordable dental care. We continue to support this effort as the dental benefits contractor for Superior HealthPlan for its STAR Health, STAR+PLUS, STAR Pregnant Women Value Added Service and Medicare Advantage Programs. STAR Health Delta Dental has partnered with Superior HealthPlan to provide Medicaid dental services to the Foster Care Members enrolled in the STAR Health managed care program, beginning June 1, 2010. The STAR Health Program, which is administered by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), provides physical, behavioral and dental health services to children and young adults in the Texas Foster Care program. For additional information about the STAR Health program, visit the Superior Foster Care website: http://www.fostercaretx.com/ STAR+PLUS Delta Dental has partnered with Superior HealthPlan to provide dental services to Members enrolled in Superior’s STAR+PLUS Program in the Nueces, Bexar and Dallas Service Areas. STAR+PLUS is a Texas Medicaid managed care program for low-income people who have physical or mental disabilities or who are elderly. Effective September 1, 2010, Delta Dental will provide value added dental services including certain exams, x-rays and cleanings to Superior STAR+PLUS Members, who are not enrolled in Medicare. Delta Dental will also administer the dental benefits for Members enrolled in the STAR+PLUS waiver program. Medicare Advantage Delta Dental has partnered with Superior HealthPlan to provide dental services to members of Advantage by Superior HealthPlan in Bexar county. Delta Dental will provide value added dental services to their Members enrolled in Advantage by Superior HealthPlan beginning June 1, 2010. Advantage by Superior HealthPlan is a Special Needs Plan that covers individuals who have both Medicare and Medicaid (dual eligible). This program offers one full-mouth x-ray, two comprehensive oral evaluations, cleanings, and fluoride treatments in addition to a $500 annual benefit for additional dental services.
