Effective January 1, 2009, Delta Dental State Government Programs will only accept CDT-2009 procedure codes

The newest version of the American Dental Association’s Current Dental Terminology (CDT-2007) goes into effect January 1, 2009. Delta Dental Insurance Company has cross-referenced all the CDT-2007 codes used by Texas CHIP Dental Services to the CDT-2009 equivalent code and determined that there are no changes to the CDT codes for services that are covered benefits of the Texas CHIP Dental Services. Nevertheless, dental offices should begin to use CDT-2009 codes when submitting claims for services performed on or after January 1, 2009. Copies of CDT-2009 are available for purchase from the American Dental Association.
