Avoid these common billing errors and receive your claims payment sooner
The following combinations of x-rays are considered a complete series of films when taken on the same date and will be processed as a complete series, Procedure D0210.
14 periapical radiographs plus bitewings, or
Panographic radiograph plus bitewings, or
Panographic radiograph plus periapical radiographs.
The fee for any of the above combinations shall not exceed the fee for Procedure D0210.
Restored surfaces on a single tooth are considered connected if the restorations are all performed on the same date. Payment may be made for a single surface on the same tooth only once in each episode of treatment, regardless of the number or combinations of restorations.
For quicker processing of your claim form, be sure to include the tooth number/arch and surface on all claims.
All treating providers in an office must be enrolled with Delta Dental to provide services to Texas CHIP members.
If a claim is denied, do not send another claim form. Fill out a Claim Inquiry Form (CIF) including the Document Control Number of the previously denied document. You can also use a CIF to check on the status of documents you have already sent to us. This form is available in “Forms and materials” section of this web site.
X-rays and/or documentation are required when submitting claims for certain services that are covered benefits of the Texas CHIP. The chart below can provide a quick reference for common procedures.
