Latin American Chamber of Commerce of Georgia names Delta Dental Corporation of the Year
December 11, 2013
Atlanta – The Latin American Chamber of Commerce (LACC) of Georgia named Delta Dental Insurance Company the 2013 Corporation of the Year. The award, one of the highest honors given by the LACC, was announced December 6 at the LACC’s 13th Annual Gala, La Posada.
The LACC of Georgia’s Commerce Awards, now in its sixth year, recognizes the entrepreneurial spirit of Latinos. The chamber presents three awards – the Chairman Award, the Business of the Year Award and the Corporation of the Year Award – to recognize business and community leaders for their success and contributions to the Latino community in Georgia.
“We are honored to receive this prestigious award from the Latin American Chamber of Commerce of Georgia,” said Rocio Haskell, Hispanic marketing manager for Delta Dental. “We are committed to supporting the Latino business community in Georgia and appreciate the support of the LACC in our efforts.”
In 2012, Delta Dental launched a dental health educational initiative, La Feria de Sonrisitas, featuring el Ratoncito Pérez, the legendary Hispanic counterpart to the Tooth Fairy. As part of the initiative, Delta Dental provided free dental screenings and dental health information to adults and children in Atlanta.
This year, Delta Dental has continued its commitment to the Atlanta community through Ratoncito Pérez’s visits to elementary schools in the area to share cultural and dental health education. Delta Dental also continues to partner with local not-for-profit organizations to help them reach their charitable goals.
