Delta Dental’s plans

Delta Dental Premier®

Delta Dental Premier is a traditional fee-for-service plan that allows you to visit any licensed dentist and to change dentists at any time without notifying Delta Dental.

Delta Dental Premier dentists agree to abide by Delta Dental’s determination of fees. When you visit a Delta Dental Premier dentist, we ensure that you pay no more than the co-insurance percentage specified by your coverage.

Delta Dental Premier is our largest dentist network.

Delta Dental PPOSM (offered as a dental provider organization, or DPO, in Texas)

Delta Dental PPO is our preferred provider organization plan (a mid-priced fee-for-service plan).

With Delta Dental PPO, you have the flexibility to visit any licensed dentist. You'll usually enjoy lower out-of-pocket costs when you select a Delta Dental PPO dentist because PPO dentists have agreed to accept reduced fees for covered procedures when treating PPO patients.

Delta Dental PPO is our second largest dentist network.

DeltaCare USA®

DeltaCare USA is a prepaid plan that features set copayments, no annual deductibles and no maximums for covered benefits.

In most states, you must select a primary care dentist in the DeltaCare USA network dentist from whom you receive treatment as in a traditional DHMO1.

Typically, your out-of-pocket expenses will be lower with DeltaCare USA than with Delta Dental Premier or Delta Dental PPO.

  • 1In Alaska, Connecticut, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, Montana, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Vermont, we offer DeltaCare USA as an open access plan. An open access plan lets enrollees obtain treatment from any licensed dentist; however, deductibles and maximums may be applied to out-of-network treatment.
